For some time now, we have been discussing both internally and with our community about further transparency and decentralization of SCRL and the Scroll platform. Today, we would like to announce some short-term internal changes with SCRL, and how you (the user) can monitor the external platform and what you can do to help make our products better. We will be discussing these changes in increments over the course of Q2.
Recently there has been quite a bit of confusion in the Blockchain world. A lot of media forums particularly like to find a correlation between a descending market and Ethereum dying as a platform. What we would want to do in this announcement is go over why we see longevity in Ethereum, and what we intend to do to stay native toward Ethereum…but not entirely. So, let’s begin!
We want to announce our decision to custody the digital assets we store in-house with Coinbase Custody Trust Company, LLC (Coinbase Custody). The industry has recently focused on concerns around the secure storage of digital assets, and we wanted to share with our community the steps we are taking to achieve secure storage of our digital assets.
Welcome to the 2018 Community Report for Scroll! We are very excited for 2019 and expect it to be better and more exciting than 2018! This update is where we wrap everything up, backtrack on past promises and provide an extra layer of transparency for our community. We want to be sure that we cover all the information that we can regarding 2018, so that way we can go into 2019 with a fresh new start for the Scroll Project as a whole. We hope everyone will get everyone excited about all of the awesome things happening internally and externally!
We hope everyone is having a good week and, if you celebrate, are having a happy holiday season so far! We have a few announcements in store, hopefully some surprises, and we are excited to hear how the community receives them. We have 1 more community update after this one to conclude the year and have plenty more to announce! Remember, if you have any more questions please feel free to ask us in our open channels and without further notice, have fun reading!
We apologize for the wait! We have managed to pull together all of the awesome things happening here at Scroll and condensed them into an update for you all to read. This update is going to be a bit different, more personalized and contains A LOT of information. Our goal is to present everything as articulately as we can. If you have any questions feel free to hop into Telegram and we can answer them for you!
Hyperledger is is an open source collaborative effort created to advance cross-industry blockchain technologies with the intention of bringing Blockchain to be a more relevant technology in businesses today. Similarly to how the Scroll Network operates, we would like to go deeper into how the Scroll Network will be divided up to fit different types of businesses and what the “Scroll Main Net” means for your business and you as a consumer.
In this update, we hope to address the concerns of anyone looking to read more into Scroll and to add an extra layer of transparency where it is needed. This update may be a pleasant surprise to some, as we are taking a lot of first steps forward that others in Blockchain may be too pensive to take.
While there is a formal thank you at the end of our first community update, we want to say up front how extremely grateful we are for all the support that the community has provided. From Scroll Boy tweets to random questions on Telegram, we enjoy all of it.
