TECHNICAL WHITE PAPER

Behind every initiative is a mission built from the passion and innovation of problem solvers. It is the innovator’s role as a power house of potential influence to automate and secure data management today. The Scroll Token proposes the adoption of the Hypernode Protocol to overcome Blockchain’s modern day limitations.

FAQ

What is Scroll?

The Scroll Network Is a data storage and management platform that leverages in-house Blockchain technology. The Scroll network remasters traditional data architectures to promote a new data standard.

What is the Scroll network?

The Scroll network is an ever-scaling, cloud alternative data solution that works as a corporation’s own semi-private database without exposing their data to a 3rd party.

How do I setup the Scroll Network with my business?

Please use the “Contact Us” page to submit an inquiry to find the optimal solution for your business.

Will you be releasing open-source material?

Absolutely, any material that can be provided in an open-source manner will be released to the community. We intend to release our open-source material on GitHub.

What’s going on with the 10 percent that was allocated to the team at ICO?

In terms of team tokens, we aren’t touching that landscape right now until we have more clarity on our legal end. We honor legal compliance inside the company and there’s a lot of barriers that we go through to get things done. It’s much easier on the product side to be able to do things because it’s very straightforward. There is a lot of gray area with a lot of this stuff and we’re trying to be compliant. We’re trying to be an example for what others should do if they want to build a successful blockchain company in the United States and everything that we do is checkpoint based. We check with legal advice on nearly every decision we make. The last thing we’d want to do is give X amount of tokens to an employee without checking for legal ramifications and confirmation.

Is Scroll going to sign up to EU US Privacy Shield?

This something we would be in favor of. When we do, we will consult our legal team and make sure that everything is in compliance with regulations. We’re also looking at the Fed ramp to be able to serve government entities with our technology. We don’t want to limit our software, we want other people to use it across the world and if that means a custom solution, that’s something we’d want to do.

What coding language is Scroll? What languages should I learn?

It depends on what you’re looking for in when you say “I want to learn how to code.” Different languages do different things for different purposes. In terms of the stack on what we’re using, we are primarily using Node, Python 3, Solidity, and C++.

Will you be hosting bug bounties or anything of the variety?

We will in the future. Please stay posted on our social media for further announcements.

Will Scroll be releasing future solutions?

Definitely! We are diligently working to bring our community solutions on the Scroll platform as well as nearing the beta for SlideDrive. Stay tuned!

How often will you be optimizing and innovating the current Scroll network?

Anything we can do to improve the Scroll network will immediately be taken into consideration. Prior to every new whitepaper publication, we will use our social media platforms to keep the Scroll Community up-to-date on the freshest changes and improvements.

If investors and partners decide to invest into scroll as either a partnership or invest in the company, is that arranged through traditional Fiat funds to back the company or do they invest through the actual SCRL token via exchanges?

Partners don’t invest in us at least not the partners we have now when you see a partnership that just means that we’re working with them on something. Partnerships in general and blockchain, I’ve really kind of never understood why people put so much precedent on Partnerships just because it’s a grandiose means to saying we’re working together on something but it doesn’t mean that we’re completely assimilating with the other company. We do have a very large pipeline of companies that are interested in doing work with us. We have to really think about when we’re partnering with somebody a few questions such as are they a competitor or we trying to compete product-wise with them? If we are and if they are a competitor it wouldn’t make sense to partner with them unless our ideals aligned.

Will Net-Type releases also include the release of developer tools for said project?

Developer tools will be released in 2019 for the purpose of building add-ons into platforms, not so much providing the ability to build a new competitor to us using our own technology.

Can you clarify if the revenues generated from the token, fiat exchange or any business transaction utilizing scroll run through Scroll Network or through the parent company, SoluTech, Inc.?

All revenues generated go to SoluTech, Inc. SoluTech is the overarching company that governs the Scroll project and we’re going to be introducing more projects in the future. The reason we did this business model is that way we can expand the brand without hurting one particular project. When we introduce a new brand, we want it to just be its own project.

What is SCRL?

Scroll is a micro-license that allows users to interact with the Scroll network. It pays for transaction gas fees that are rapidly processed throughout the network and it can also cover payments for Scroll-based subscription fees! Learn more here!

Is there a rough ETA on the Scroll Wallet?

The primary reason is that we want to work with another entity on the wallet to create a unique relationship with the wallet where it’s not putting a wallet out and hope that you use it instead of Nano Ledger S. We want to actually integrate it into the products more deeply and right now we believe that cold storage through a Nano Ledger S is the most efficient in resourceful way to store digital assets. There’s no purpose in putting a wallet out right now with in terms of token standard. We will eventually be completely onto our own standard and the reason why we aren’t at the moment is because then we would be revoking the ability for you to use the cold storage that you currently use and we don’t want to just rip that out from under people.

How would three net-type's impact the token in terms of liquidity volume and price?

Having additional net types equates to more means for our utility token to be used. Commonly, what most Dapps want in terms of their token usage is  a micro license where in order to access the Dapp, you need to have the tokens in your wallet and then by having a token in the wallet, it gives the user the ability to access the Dapp. We’re taking that and we’re throwing it out because it doesn’t make any sense. Why would you need to exchange a token? If it’s just one token in a wallet it’s a micro license to access the Dapp which doesn’t make any sense. What we’re doing is we’re consuming transaction costs on those networks with a digital asset because if you did not have a digital asset there would be no point in using blockchains.

Will the launch of Net-Types facilitate new ICOs and cryptocurrency projects?

We want to be a facilitator of new cryptocurrency projects and we still do. However, the ICO landscape is so unknown right now. We are not going to be examining hosting new crypto currencies on the platform until we get more of a green light, guidelines, and procedures to follow. Until then, we would require that cryptocurrency projects follow regular securities laws and that means that they would have to get consultation from our law firm. It’s a matter of keeping our platform legitimate and making sure that people can trust the platform.

Do tokens need to be bought for use?

In a platform that requires gas costs to compensate a transaction, yes. The goal is to have SCRL become the standard for data transactions on distributed networks. That being said, we want other platforms that need a digital asset for their data based platform to use SCRL just as we do in our platform. The nature of SCRL is not to be centralized, it is meant to benefit all data centric blockchains and distributed networks with this specific factor of providing gas to all data transactions. The uses for SCRL are as follows:

  • Low Gas Cost Compensation for Enterprise AND Consumer Platforms
  • Platform Subscription Fee Payments
  • One Time Fee Payments
  • Pay-as-you go Data Storage Payments
  • Product Pre-Orders
  • Node-Hosting Compensation (We will touch on that later!)
  • Data Recovery Requests (Seed words required)
  • Dev Tools Payments
  • Payments for Community Scroll DApps
  • Low Gas Cost Compensation for Community Scroll DApps
I noticed you were mentioning private chat and communication as a possible product is that in the works? I know some other companies are working or have that platform.

We’re adding private chat to SlideDrive because it’s a really unique feature and we are pushing through the values of blockchain. With SlideDrive, we’re trying to incorporate all the security Hallmarks into the software. When we put out new 2.0 features where we want to do a private chat, that’s because we can do it and we know that it’s something that people would like to do. It is something we’re working on and will support but it’s not a major part of our business model. The way that it’s going to work is to users open a chat room, if one user leaves it closes the chat room, so it’s completely private with no third party involved. We’re also adding video chat and phone calls in our list of 2.0 features.

Will the SlideDrive Beta include the Fiat on and off ramping feature?

This depends on two things: the phase of SlideDrive development and the jurisdiction of a regulatory compliance. This answer will be updated in the future as more information becomes available.

Can existing software supply chain solutions be laid down on top of Aster or do they need do they or the business need to start from scratch?

Aster can be its own standalone solution, which we recommend, or we can incorporate it as a layer and integrate options that a client wants and can integrate into legacy systems. If businesses don’t want to give up one feature and they want another thing in terms of blockchain, there are a lot of approaches we can take. For example, with some businesses if you use a full blockchain for the business it can break their business process completely. At this time, Blockchain technology needs to be broken down and some businesses need one feature versus another. The decision depends on the use case and will come down to custom solutions but they will all be tethered to the same idea of how we would provide those services.

How is Osier Used?

Osier is a development effort working towards the solution to provide possibility of communication between multiple side-chains with separate ecosystems as well the need to display variation of blockchain states dependent on the users. It is imperative these states remain encrypted so that the full state of blockchain is not accessible to each ecosystem supported under one source chain.
